Master's Program in World Heritage Studies

The "Master's Program in World Heritage studies", in response to the world-wide diversity in needs for the protection and conservation of both cultural and natural heritage, aims at acquiring the basic but well specialized practical studies relating to the followiing multi-disciplinary fields: philosophy religious studies, archaeology, bio-ecological studies, cultural tourism, conservation management, landascape, architecture urban planning, art history, and conservation science. In addition to full-time proferssors, these fields of specialization are partially supported by eminent specialists,especially experts of administrative practice from public sectors. Thus, the graduate students of this program will and should learn the most recent "trends" and up-dated information, such as the strategy in cultural policy, challenges in national and international conservation programs on the governmental level. For those who are engaged in the heritage conservation in a broader sense, it is important to acquire knowledge and skills not only through professional education in the class rooms but also through the direct contact with the reality of actual and wide-ranged conservation activities, developed in arichitectual- archaeological sites, landscape conservation projects in traditional villages or agricultural farms. For this purpose, lectures are organically associated with practices and seminars in our "Master's Program in World Heritage Studies". Given the Master's Degree of the World Heritage Studies or Master's Degree of the Philosophy, those who have completed this Program are expected this Program are expected either to work for public or private sectors of heritage conservation and management, or further to develop thier professional knowledge in the Doctoral Program of the World Cultural Studies.
